Telehealth Services Amanda Offers

Why tele-health?

As we enter this new, post-pandemic world, I have found that thoughtful tele-health has allowed me to help clients progress more quickly in their calm, known, home environments.  Traditional in office care adds the burden of the client spending time in traffic, transitioning into a care providers space, and then back into traffic.

With tele-health, I am able to connect with people at home and at their work places in a manner that fits into my client's life the best.

If you have concerns about tele-health vs. in office care please reach out for a consultation to see how tele-health feels with me.                            I offer a free, 30 minute consultation to make sure that my skills are the best fit for your needs.

Individual Counseling

I offer a warm, safe, judgement free environment to explore the space between where you want your life to be and where it currently is.  My goal is to empower you to face the challenges and obstacles in your life to reach the goals that YOU want to reach.  My job is to support you in that effort and offer feedback and positive regard while you are on your journey.  I believe that all of us have the answers that we seek inside of us, sometimes we just need a nudge in the right direction.  From anxiety, depression, self-image, self-harm or relational struggles there are no problems too big or small for us to focus on.  I look forward to connecting and uncovering the attributes that will help you on your journey.

Couple Looking at Landscape

When we meet someone that we want to share our life, space, and time with it can feel very seductive and hopeful.

I find the process of creating and maintaining a relationship fascinating because each partner brings their entire history, family culture, and assumptions on what makes a ‘good’ relationship into a relationship.

Communication is key and is often at the center of relationship problems.  I am a firm believer that some level of conflict is normal within a relationship, it’s how the conflict is handled between the partners that matters.  I offer couples judgement free sessions to navigate this uncomfortable space between unmet needs and expectations to create space in the relationship for increased strength and hope.  I utilize research by the Gottman Institute to add long-term, science based research to provide a new perspective on looking at the same ‘old’ problems in a couple’s relationship.

I look forward to hearing how you came to be where you currently are at as a couple and support you into getting where you would both like to go in your relationship.

Teens

I greatly enjoy working with teens because they are in the midst of transformation from childhood to adulthood.  They have a mixture of mature and immature character traits and perspectives that create a unique worldview.  I appreciate this vulnerable age and can empathize both with the teen transitioning through this confusing state to adulthood and the sense of loss and frustration that the parent can feel at times as their child matures.

The teen years are a crucial time period for building resilience and self-confidence.  It’s easy to dismiss a teen’s feelings when adults compare teen struggles to the adult challenges that adults face on a daily basis.  However, the teen’s current problem may be the most difficult situation that the teen has encountered yet.  Each successful navigation of a problem becomes a building block to resilience and self-confidence allowing the teen a greater ability to handle more and more complex problems as time goes on. Having an open-minded, impartial person listen to these troubles can be transformative.  Sometimes teens need to hear that they are okay, normal, and doing their best from an unbiased third party.

Most of my teen clients are struggling with feelings of belonging and fitting in.    I teach clients to use tools such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy to challenge long held negative beliefs, Mindfulness to create space for the client between the problem and themselves, and Narrative Therapy to reframe the client’s perception of the situation to build a tool kit that the client can use for the rest of their life.

I look forward to hearing your story and helping you reach your goals.
